Geotrac Supercup: an unmissable tractor spectacular
Europe’s best tractor drivers went head to head in Lindner’s annual Geotrac Supercup, where pressure, power and precision combine. Perkins provided the engines for every machine that competed and is proud to be among the event’s lead sponsors.
The Alps has long been a winter playground for skiers and snowboarders. Come summer, it’s the moment when machines – and their drivers – take centre stage.
In Lindner’s annual Geotrac Supercup, Europe’s best tractor drivers do battle in an event broadly recognised as the most spectacular tractor racing competition in the Alps.
Around 60 talented drivers come together to race for a range of different teams, including one coached by Perkins. It’s an opportunity to show off their skills and abilities over a racing season running from June to September.
Races are held across several different Alpine nations and regions, with this year’s competition taking in Grafenegg and Wels in Austria, Karpfham in Germany and Sulden in Italy.

The contests are less about brute power, and more about controlling the tractor to the centimetre. Demanding courses take drivers out of their comfort zones, with precision challenges including inch-perfect parking, flawless negotiation of tight corners and even balancing the tractor on a seesaw.
Any small error is met with a penalty as drivers aim to outshine their rivals under huge pressure.
Under the hood
With Perkins engines under the hood of every Geotrac machine competing in the event, our business has always had a central role to play. This year, we stepped things up a gear by becoming a lead sponsor for the event. It’s another way of showing our commitment and support for Lindner, with whom we’ve built an important relationship over more than 50 years.
The starting gun for this year’s contest was fired in Grafenegg. The season then moved to Sulden, before taking a summer break. It returned for an action-packed September with races in Germany and Austria, before the contest’s best 32 drivers came together for the big finale on September 9, in Wels, Austria.
After a very tense season, Alexander Moschinger from Oberndorf in Lower Austria took the overall title of Best European Tractor Driver, winning an incredible prize of Lindner’s latest Lintrac 110 tractor powered by a 113 hp Perkins® 854 engine for a whole year. Perkins, meanwhile, took the prize for best team.
With such a fantastic prize – and bragging rights – to play for, it’s no surprise that the event continues to enjoy huge support. It’s an unmissable event for anyone interested in farm machinery across Europe, and an unmissable opportunity for Perkins to show its support to a long-time partner.
