New process boosts resale value
Customers may wish to sell their existing machinery as they seek out fresh innovation and look to upgrade to the latest technology. Just like us, they operate internationally and may want to sell equipment in markets with different emissions standards. We make it easy for them to sell products from highly regulated to less regulated markets through our authorised modification processes for EU Stage IIIB/U.S. EPA Tier 4 Interim aftertreatment to maximise resale opportunities in other markets.
Emission standards vary from region to region, country to country. Through research, engineering and innovation we have developed and delivered technology that meets the emission standards of Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim. We understand that during the lifetime of an application, it may move into territories where fuel quality and sulphur content can vary. This is why we offer a solution that will maximise the resale value of used equipment from one market to another.
“We're used to developing a wide range of engines for our customers who operate in a variety of regulatory environments. We're confident that our solutions will meet customer expectations for use in the vast majority of export destinations.”

New process boosts resale value
We have performed extensive testing, analysis and field validation on our Stage IIIB/Tier 4Interim engines. For those above 130 kW (175 hp), our engine systems will not require any modification to operate in countries with higher sulphur fuel levels.
Local support, global coverage
For our Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim engines under 130 kW (175 hp), we offer authorised modification processes, including decertification, to remove the aftertreatment. This enables operation in countries with higher fuel sulphur. These modification processes are provided locally through our global network of Perkins distributors.
As operators consider used equipment migration to lesser-regulated countries, we have worked with a number of our distributors across the world to deliver this solution. Depending on local requirements, our distributors will have access to service training, parts stock, service tooling and product information, including detailed information on specific modification processes for our engines and aftertreatment technology.
Whatever the location
Our engines operate in a variety of regulatory environments. We are used to providing technologies that meet the different operator needs and expectations, whatever the final location of the equipment.
