Perkins is a company with a proud tradition. Our heritage timeline is a simple way to see some of the history that made us what we are today.
Our story, from the earliest days, is one of engineering excellence – but the Perkins heritage is also built on understanding what our customers want, and seeing that they get it, quickly, efficiently and consistently.
The heritage timeline traces our story from 1932, when our company was founded, to ourpresent position as a global leader in diesel engine manufacture and development, with facilities on four continents.
It features some of our historic engines from the past, such as the Wolf from 1933 and the P Series from 1937.

It also traces the establishment of our manufacturing facilities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
It highlights some of the individuals who have helped to make the company what it is, starting with Frank Perkins and Charles Chapman back in the 1930s.
